Reading #6: Benjamin, 1935

Benjamin, Walter has approached the writings of what mechanical equipment can convey creativity into one’s point of viewpoint to illustrating a film, a play in the theater, and animations. According to the script, The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, on section 5 of the reading is demonstrates the aspects of shooting a film and revealing creativity behind on producing with such extraneous accessories. ” … in the studio the mechanical equipment has penetrated so deeply into reality that its pure aspect freed from the foreign substance of equipment is the result of a special procedure … ” (Benjamin. 233) Which confuses me that the author mentioned the similarity and differences with the surgeon and the magician to understand somewhat the role of cameraman and painter. I believe the author had an poetic way of addressing the comparisons of these circumstances and felt like he has moments on creating the natural aspects to using the mechanical equipment to show those artists side.
