Boosting Health With Local Food

This article discusses whether eating locally farmed food is better for an individual’s health. University of North Carolina researchers claim that local foods (within a 100 mile radius) tend to be fresher and they are less likely to be processed, given they don’t come from large commercial food companies. They further claim that since shopping at local food markets is pleasurable, it will lead to more variety in diet given individuals’ personal connection with the vendors. Also, they have the ability to question the sources of the products, pesticide use, farming method, etc.
