Ferry Horns Cause Disturbance in Battery Park City

Three years ago, People who lived besides battery park were complaining about the noisy sound of the ferry engines. Recently, the rules of navigation enforced by the Coast Guard require ferries and other powerboats to blast their horns for several seconds before departing docks. So, the horns become another kind of noise. Some of the residents said,the horns begin every 6a.m and ends until midnight. Many residents did something in order to show their dissatisfaction.  A man posted a video on Youtube to show how his family is disturbed by the ferry horns. Some one wrote a open letter to his neighbors. The ferry company owners also wants his kayakers to sound their horns as required.(Joshua Bright for The New York Times)
