We’re proposing an innovative approach to students’ education incorporating the SAT and SHSAT into the school curriculum. We can expect improved access to test preparation resources, fostering a culture of academic excellence for all students. Educators can empower students to achieve their academic goals and enhance their prospects for success.
The high school and college you attend will determine the future of your higher education career, as well as determining how you will end up in the future. In NYC specifically, there are high schools that are more sought after than others, such as all the specialized high schools, and then there are many prestige colleges out there as well. Thus, we propose to incorporate SHSAT and SAT courses into the teaching curriculum so that all students have the opportunity to gain exposure to the materials on the exams. Many parents spend thousands of dollars to send their children to outside tutoring to prepare them for these tests because not everything on the exams is taught in their classes. For the students to do well, they must learn from outside sources, which is not rational given that if these exams are set as benchmarks as to how students are performing academically, then they should have the right to learn this in classrooms for free.
