I think that this question is a bit too broad because online communication could refer to numerous things such as social networking sites or video chatting so you should zero in on something specific so that your research is solid. Also, with social behavior, you should specify what you mean by it because there are many things that can be considered as social behavior (being more active in school? making new friends? etc).

  2. If I’m interpreting your question correctly, it sounds like online communication is connected to a teenager’s social behavior. To answer the question, you would then have to explore the relationship in how online communication affects the teenager’s social behavior, and then evaluate the extent of those effects.

I agree with Carrie that the question is too broad. You should pick an aspect of online communication and an aspect of social behavior as a way to specify and limit the question, and that would narrow your scope of research. It would also serve as a better direction for you follow in researching, because then you would know exactly what you are looking for instead of being overwhelmed by great bulks of information.

  3. In my opinion, the topic you chose is really interesting; however, my first concern would be that the question is very broad. You may want to narrow down “online communication” to a more specific area. This is because with a concept like online communication, comes a vast variety of different forms of online communication, i.e- social networking, online chats, blogs, etc. Another concern I have is the relativity this has towards information ethics; maybe when you make your question more specific you can add in an aspect of information ethics, like, how violation of privacy rights on blogs affects social behavior amongst teenagers.

  4. I think your classmates have already done a good job of suggesting that the phrase “online communication” is too broad and encompasses too many kinds of ways of communicating and that the phrase “social behavior” needs to more more precisely and narrowing defined.
