I like the question and see lots of potential with it. However it feels like you can specify the question a bit more. E.g. What are the most effective ways to ensure legitimacy.
I really like your topic because it’s unique and I like to play poker. My friends and I like to play poker on an app on Facebook. Although I’m playing with my friends, an occasional stranger joins the table and things get awkward. Even though we aren’t playing with real money, I am always conscientious of the amount of money I have. I’m digressing but I think they way you worded your question doesn’t really relate to information technology. The government can do many things to ensure the legitimacy but if you focus more on the individual’s/player’s privacy/worries on these online gambling websites, the question will then be more focused.
Interesting topic. I’m a little foggy on what you mean by “legitimacy.” Can you spell this out in your question somehow? By having the government “ensure” something, are you getting at the question of whether the industry (or maybe the customers) would be better served if the federal government were to regulate it in some specific way? I assume that that there must be some regulation now. What is the extent of that regulation? Knowing that might affect the wording of your question and help make it more focused on something that isn’t yet regulated.
