The Use of Catalogs

The kind of materials that can be found in a catalog is all the books that contain your word of search either in the description of the novel, the title of the novel or even in the author’s name. Also, in the catalog you can find the location, the call number, the status, and a description in a novel. In the catalog you can’t find the whole magazine and not even websites.  The novel I have searched is Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. The call number of this novel is PR2831. A2E94 2003. This book is found on the fifth floor. The status of a book is a regular loan.

What can/can’t be found in the catalog; key info about book

Materials that can be found in the catalog are textbooks (Give Me Liberty!), reading books (Holes), and plays (Summer and Smoke). But what I could not find are magazines (ESPN the Magazine). When I tried searching for ESPN the Mag, it gave me results that were pieces on ESPN, but not the actual magazine.

In-Class Activity, 09/07/11

You can find information on a book, DVDs, CDs, magazines, journals, newspapers like: titles, call numbers, cover art, edition, publisher, a description, notes, a summary, and subjects it could be found in. But what this doesn’t give you is reviews of the book or websites relating to the keyword you’re searching with.
