Hey David!
I feel that this is still a bit broad in the sense that your terms ‘deep’ and ‘foreign countries privacy’ are general terms. You might want to specify which foreign countries you are planning to focus on and define the term ‘deep’.
You may also want to narrow down which aspect of Google Maps you’re intrigued in finding out more on (i.e. Street view, publicity of private corporation owned buildings, etc.)
I hope this helps. Good luck!
Yes, I’ll have to agree with Ives. I think foreign countries is to wide of a search, think smaller and more specific. And also, maybe clarify what you mean by “invade,” because that word could have several different meanings to other people. Just things to think about. Your research question is really shaping up! Good Luck!
My comment may sound repetitive but I agree with Chris and Ives. Foreign countries does sound a bit too general. You should also explain what you mean by “invade” and “privacy”. Many people may have different definitions of those two words so it would be helpful if the reader understood your take on it as well. The topic is interesting but I think you’re on the right track. Just a few minor adjustments need to be made. :]
Dude this question is a bit too broad. I think you need to narrow it down to a specific topic and country because there have been many issues in different question. I would also work on the phrasing because its not too clear what this question is talking about. I think your on your way too a good question but you need to work on it.
Your classmates are all correct in noting that the focus of your question is still too broad and the wording a bit off. As we discussed yesterday in class, I think looking into what Google’s experience was in doing Street View for Google Maps in China might yield an interesting research question. There are also lots of other interesting questions about Google Street View (such as its collection of wifi router data as Google’s cars prowl streets taking photos and gathering other data).
Before you do any other work on your question, you must do some background reading on Google Maps with Street View. Here are some things to read:
– a page from Google about privacy and Google Maps with Street View
– a Wikipedia page on Google Street View privacy concerns
– a page on the website of EPIC, a privacy organization, about Google Street View
