I really like this research question because it is interesting. The only thing that I would suggest you work on is to explain what you mean by “country’s history”. Prof. Francoeur suggested that I include a specific time period in my research question since our topics are similar. It makes sense to do this so I will suggest it to you as well. It will definitely make your research question more focused.
Hi Erum, I really like the direction of your question, and see some very good research potential coming out of it. However, I must agree with Geeta concerning some of the ambiguities it contains. When you mention Germany’s history in general, it seems to be a bit too broad and large-scale to tackle all at once. Maybe there is a specific moment and or event about Germany’s history which pertains to your topic, and can help narrow your question down. If so, I definitely feel that you should include it in. Hope I helped!
Hey there Erum! Damn your question did get really specific. I like what the girls are saying. In my opinion I think not only you should specify which time period but also a specific place in Germany, because taking all of Germany might be a bit too confusing. If I was you I would probably take the capital of Germany, because capitals tend to have the most history. I hope this helps and gives you a more specific research question that will give you results in exactly what you’re looking for ! Best of Luck!
Erum, your question is much improved. Rather than just put in dates to specify the time period, I think you can probably make a reasonable guess that it was Germany’s experience during the Nazi era and the post-war years when East Germany was behind the Iron Curtain that are relevant eras. I think that when you start to search for articles on why Germany reacted the way it did to Google’s Street View project, you’ll see people talking about specific historical events and experiences that likely shaped the response to Google; just do some searching now, some skimming of articles, and then tweak the wording of your question one last time.
