What We Learned As a Group
1. The things that we learned that were useful were learning about databases, authority of authors, and field searching. Databases will be useful for us because we learned how to find relevant sources while researching and we can use this technique when we have to research in the future. Authority of authors will be useful for us because we now know how to identify and determine if an author is credible and reliable. Field searching will be useful because we can narrow down our searches and get sources that are more specific to what we are trying to research about.
2. One thing that we all think we should have learned more about was BEAM. We feel like we did not cover this topic as much as we covered topics. We think that we should have focused on it more than we did.

Things I Learned
1. Throughout this entire course I certainly learned many new and useful things. One of the first things that will be most useful to me is knowing how to use databases very well. Before coming into this class, I probably would never used the database. However, now I have learned how to use databases well enough to gain useful and reliable sources with great quality. Another thing that will be useful for me is knowing how to find peer-reviewed articles. I am certain that it will help in the future when I need peer-reviewed sources to write papers for other classes. The third thing that will be useful for me is the knowledge of Google. I always used Google before but after this course I can use it much better to my advantage in many ways because I learned so many new things about this search engine.
2. One thing that I wish we had spent more time covering in class and learning more about was comparing Google to other search engines like Yahoo and MSN so we can better see the differences and similarities.

Ethnic NewsWatch: The subject specialty this database has is News. This database provides a broad coverage of the news from approximately 200 publications and provides users with over 670,000 articles. It has local and metropolitan perspectives on local, national, and international issues. The database consists of big news stories from small sources. It has multicultural coverage on subjects that focus on news about African-American, Hispanic, Latino, and many other ethnic groups. When you run searches, information is mostly found in the form of articles. Controlled vocabulary can be found in this database listed under subjects; for example, it can be government, religion, cultural, local, national, or international issues. One surprising feature in this database is that it is available in two languages, both English and Spanish since it provides news on ethnic groups.
World Bank Data: The subject specialty this database has is Economics and Financials. It provides international social and economic data from over 207 countries. It also consists of social, financial, and environmental indicators from 1960 until 2000. It is designed to help fight poverty through economic knowledge. When searches are done, the information is mainly portrayed in tables that provide all the financial data that is necessary. This database does not have a specific section for controlled vocabulary and subject terms but it does have a section for various topics that you can search by such as agricultural and rural development, financial sector, education, poverty, private sector, public sector, etc. One unique feature that this database has is that it consists of a system of blogs within the database itself. Additionally, these blogs vary from all different forms of international news and issues from numerous countries.

Research Strategy
There are a great number of research strategies that one can use. Different strategies help different people. There are many steps I go through in order to obtain precise and reliable research. First, I obviously need an interesting topic that I can further turn into a research question. After having a topic, I would research not only on various search engines but I would also use references such as books. In order to have a lot of information, I have to make sure to start by obtaining background information on my topic. In addition, I try my best to make sure that the sources I am using are extremely accurate and reliable so that I have the true information. For example, I wouldn’t want to use information from a website that doesn’t seem very professional. Furthermore, I keep record of all the sources that I am using for citation purposes. These steps help me gather important and correct research.

The Google Video vs. Wikipedia’s article on Google
Although both, the video and Wikipedia, informed people about Google. each had different information regarding the famous search engine. I felt that video was much more detailed than Wikipedia in all the information that was seen throughout it. Some things that were seen in great detail in the video and were not really mentioned in Wikipedia were the corporate culture of Google and privacy problems Google may have. On the other hand, there were also some things that were seen in Wikipedia that the video did not consist of. For example, information about the influence of Google in China can be seen in the Wikipedia article.

The Easiest/Hardest Part of Researching
The easiest part for me while doing research is being able to find general as well as accurate information about the topic which is being researched. The most difficult part for me is determining whether the website is a reliable website or not.
