Our voice in this class.
1. We liked how we were opened to new research sources rather than just the typical type in the Google box and pressing all the results that came up on the first page.
2. I was impressed by all these Google services, like the documents on Gmail, the advanced search option, and Google plus.
3. The different kinds of plagiarism, we thought it was the typical copy and paste one.
- I wished we spent more time on when to use AND vs. OR properly.

My Reactions to the Class..
- Most important things I learned this semester :
1. How to be more efficient in choosing the sources, and using library databases that will supply me with peer reviewed journals rather than sources that can be made by the public.
2. To always check the authors background information before citing or even using their work.
3. Developing a topic that will not be a yes or no answer or compare and contrast, but searching information before hand in order to create a research question or topic that will give a strong essay.
- I wish we had to spend a little more time on how the usage of databases, it was a little brief.

My Databases…
M- MarketResearch.com
- In this database it aims in the field of marketing so it would probably be used in a marketing class or any beginner business class. This database is used by business professionals not only in America but around the globe since it provides research reports for over 2,000 industries in the world. It is mostly used industry overviews, competitive analysis, market trends, product innovations, consumer behavior, and market share in industries in the Food Department to even Science and Technology. Most of the results in this database are downloadable and using a PDF file containing not only information but images as well. In every report there is an abstract and a chapter of contents that will break the information into subtitles. However, there is no controlled vocabulary in the search. I never seen a database that will have a chapter of contents and I think that is very helpful when there is a report that is over 200 pages and your only interested in a certain topic in the field. It makes it very convenient for the uses when they want to skim through different topics.
P- Philisopher’s Index
- In this database, which you can tell from its name is used for philosophical information. This database will probably used for a philosophy class or any class along those lines like ethics. It is a database from EBSCOhost which mean that it will contain articles from scholarly journals, books, book chapters and book reviews. Yes, there is controlled vocabulary depending on your search and which field you choose when searching. If you specify in subject field, your world will be in the subject of every result. There isn’t anything really unique in this database since it is under EBSCOhost which is the center of many databases.

My motto for Research…
There are multiple ways of researching due to the constant changes in technology. Research has become far more easy than it was in the past, but we the users have to know how to make the best of it. The amount of information out on the web in the present day is beyond our belief. My motto for Research that I have adapted through my years of high school is to write the key words of the question or of the topic that my teacher gives me and see which information overlaps in the result and use it in my research paper. One I get all my results from Google, which is always my prime research engine, I go on websites that either have at least one key word in the link or that end in edu or org because those seem to be a lot more precise and efficient than like Wikipedia which is a source open to the public and everyone can state what they want. Depending on the topic I look mostly into books or journals that show the difference in views and shows other peoples perspectives. However, first you must get the facts down than the views.

The Use of Catalogs
The kind of materials that can be found in a catalog is all the books that contain your word of search either in the description of the novel, the title of the novel or even in the author’s name. Also, in the catalog you can find the location, the call number, the status, and a description in a novel. In the catalog you can’t find the whole magazine and not even websites. The novel I have searched is Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. The call number of this novel is PR2831. A2E94 2003. This book is found on the fifth floor. The status of a book is a regular loan.

How I see Research
Research has become second nature after finishing high school, however there is some stuff that I still find a rather bit confusing. Even though, its very easy to research thanks to google, I find it hard to know which website has precise information or if its just any other random person posting information on the web. Sometimes, I feel that I shouldn’t use the internet and rather go to the library and pick some books, but with today’s technology, research definitely has become a lot easier.
