About

MeHey there!  My name is Eddie, and welcome to my blog!  As a life-long New York City Resident, as well as a bike commuter for years, I love exploring the ins and outs of this city.  When you bike here, you get to take in everything that you would miss on a train or in a car, from the forgotten architecture of yesterday, to the vibrant and diverse neighborhoods of today.  I created this blog to make a little space on the web to showcase all the hidden gems this city has to offer.

I hope that reading this will convince you to go out and follow in my footsteps.  New York has a vibrant and constantly growing cycling culture that’s always looking for new people.  There are thousands of regular bike commuters and over 200 miles of bike lanes in this city.  Plus, with great new projects such as the Citi Bike program, the numbers aren’t going down any time soon.

Although starting to bike in the city may seem like a big step for many, there are so many benefits to it, from saving money, becoming healthier, helping the environment, and of course, getting to see all the things you miss on your usual commute.  With this blog, along with telling you some great stories about this city, I’ll keep you updated with everything from the latest news on bicycling initiatives, to great new gear to make your ride safer and easier.

So everyone, get on your two wheels, and enjoy the ride!
