Post One
As we all know, this is a mandatory post therefore if I don’t do it, I fail the course. Nevertheless these posts may turn out to be a great stress reliever.
So far my biggest concerns as an undergraduate student is whether or not I will graduate. Not only do I want to graduate on time, I want to graduate with some sort of recognition or achievement. I want to graduate feeling like I’ve done something good in Baruch. Aside from that, I am also worried about my grades. I need to maintain over a 3.5 GPA so that I’d continue receiving the Peter Valone Scholarship, be admitted into Baruch Honors programs and be a part of Phi Eta Sigma, the freshman and sophomore honors society. My last concern would be whether or not I’d have fun. I do not want to be a hardcore workaholic. I’d like to have fun-safely though. I’m worried about whether or not I’d meet the right people and if I’d fine close friends like the ones I found in high school.
High School was somewhat fun for me. Of course, I’m hoping Baruch would be even better and more fun. I think that with The Ticker and USG, I’d learn to open up more. Unlike the days at High School, I’ll have to push myself to socialize with people I don’t know. My networking and communicating experience at Baruch would be different than that in High School because I’ll most likely be around much older and more mature.
My first few weeks at Baruch has already changed me. I think my first year would make me stay focus and on track. I hope to slack a bit less and stop procrastinating. With much more work, reading, quizzes and tests, I think my freshman year would push me a step closer towards maturity and success.
Who Do You Think You Are?
I’m Lily. I’m an undergrad freshman that knows absolutely nothing about anything. I’m always lost and left clueless but in time I think I’d learn to love Baruch. I am just the typical first year student that is still stuck between High School and College.
I am a writer of poetry and prose. I am learning photography at the Ticker and I like to stretch my creativity. I aspire to be an Event Planner, specifically planning Corporate Events or Weddings.
I am a Freshman who has planned and organized my whole life. All that’s left is to follow my path and work hard for my goals.
