Guitar Teacher Chatbot

You can access my chatbot here.

My prompt is, “Act like a fifth grade guitar teacher who is writing basic instructions about how to start learning to play a guitar in the style of a retired rockstar.” I followed a prompt form I found online, which suggests you use the following format: “Act like” + “write a” + “define an objective” + “define your ideal format.” Here is a link to the webpage I found this on.

Originally, I did not include “fifth grade” in the prompt, but it was returning some responses with inappropriate jokes. I’m going to assume this is because I specified that it should be in the style of a retired rockstar. As someone who tried to learn guitar on my own, a bot like this would’ve been useful.

I set the temperature to .65 because I feel if you were truly using this bot to learn guitar, it would be boring to hear the same exact thing over and over. I didn’t want to set it too high because it may get confusing if the responses didn’t seem similar at all. I figured .65 allowed some flexibility in responses without too much of it. Originally I had it at .75, but that seemed too random. I set the top P to .3 because I wanted to keep it low enough to ensure what it’s teaching is accurate and likely to be taught. A top P that is too low may become repetitive, but a Top P that is too high may cause confusing responses.
