This semester, you will make one 10-minute presentation at the beginning of one of our classes. You’ll sign up for a presentation date at the beginning of the semester. On that date, you’ll present about an aspect of the day’s reading that interests you.
The presentation should deal directly with the material we are covering that day. And it should revolve around a question or two you are asking—and trying to answer. Ideally, your presentation will help set off a larger conversation.
Something to keep in mind: you can assume we’ve all read the text, so your job is not to summarize the reading. We already know what happens! Instead, dig into something about it that interests you—or puzzles you, or provokes a strong reaction of any kind (including confusion!). Just find a way in.
You’re welcome to use PowerPoint or another visual platform. You’ll be able to share your screen with the class. And feel free to bring in any other material that you feel is interesting or relevant to your presentation.
