This semester, you will:
Make one 10-minute presentation on one of the assigned texts. You will present on the day we discuss that text.
Take a midterm exam on the texts we’ve read so far. The midterm is Thursday, October 21st.
Create a map for the course and write a 3- to 4-page justification for it. You will share your map with the class on Thursday, December 9th, and email me your justification by Thursday, December 16th.
Participation matters in this class. It will become a community, where we talk about ideas, questions, thoughts. Just do the reading and come ready to discuss it.
Your final grade will reflect:
Class participation: 25%
Presentation: 25%
Midterm: 25%
Map: 25%
Below are the policies for this course:
Attendance
Attendance via Zoom is strongly encouraged. I highly value your presence and participation in each class. Missing more than 3 classes will negatively affect your grade; missing 5 or more classes will result in a final grade of F.
Technology
We will meet every Tuesday and Thursday via Zoom. Click on the floating castle in the “Zoom” section of the website, and it will take you to our class.
This site contains PDFs of every text except Macbeth, which you will buy.

Plagiarism
Plagiarism (turning in someone else’s work as your own) will result in an F for the assignment and possibly the course. Don’t do it. It’s never worth it. If you are having a hard time with an assignment—on any level—let me know.
