For my proposal, I want to write about how small and large details of the arts impacted how the world saw the Harlem Renaissance. I’m interested in this because every detail matters on the way to change.

For my final project I will discuss what I call “Black Cultural Infancy”, the time period after Reconstruction in which Blackness was discovering its new identity within the changing American landscape.
