My word for the semester is HAIR. Hair, could be one of the most ordinary themes one could get from a Bob Dylan radio show but, after giving it some thought, I realized that this word; this reality, could stand for and be associated to many things such as the word EXPRESSION. Expression is the main theme of my composition which consequently closely ties in with the idea of sending out a message.

Whether you are a rocker and feel that a Mohawk is part of expressing who you are, or whether you were a rebellious woman in the 1920’s who felt the need to chop off her hair in order to rebel against society’s prototype of a woman, or whether you rather a hairy fur coat in the winter over a wool one because you want to make known your status or perhaps let others know that you’re glamorous– hair can effectively be used as a form of expression; a way to communicate to those around you a piece of who you are or what you stand for.
