Degree Programs:

  • The Master of Integrated Innovation degree focuses on the creation of products, services and interactive experiences that define new product opportunities that exceed user value expectations. Formerly called the Master of Product Development, the name of the degree has changed with the launch of the Integrated Innovation Institute, to reflect the unique positioning of the institute. The program excels at providing engineers, designers, business students and those in related fields, the skills and knowledge to become elite innovators. Students graduate to become accomplished practitioners and leaders of the product development process.Resources: In addition, MII-PS students have access to other spaces and resources managed by the School of Design and the Department of Mechanical Engineering including two computer clusters, a digital imaging lab, a machine shop & rapid prototyping facility, and a photography studio.

    Curriculum:

    • Capstone in a Integrated Product Development Course
  • Master of Integrated Innovation for Products & Services — 9 month degree
    • The one-year curriculum requires students to complete a minimum of 96 units of course work over two semesters, Fall & Spring.
    • At least 24 units of the total must be used toward at least two electives relevant to the product development process and be approved by an advisor.
    • At least 84 units of the total 96 units must be used toward graduate level courses.
    • Students must have a minimum QPA of 3.0 to graduate.
  • Master of Integrated Innovation for Products & Services (Advanced Study) — 16 month degree
    • The 16 month curriculum requires students to complete a minimum of 141 units of course work over three semesters and a summer internship.
    • At least 48 units of the total must be used toward at least two electives relevant to the product development process and be approved by an advisor.
    • Students must have a minimum QPA of 3.0 to graduate.

  • Executive Education programs
    • Integrated Innovation offers exciting Executive Education programs that can be tuned to the needs of individual companies.  Topics include product innovation, managing innovation teams, and values and purchase motivations of the millennial customer.  The Institute also offers unique corporate innovation activities that pair industry teams with Institute faculty and students to explore new market exploration and product concept projects.
