Summary
When I watched Jeremy Couillard’s ‘Alien Afterlife Trailer,’ I felt amazed and curious. The scenes and cool visuals took me to wonderful places I have never imagined. It made me think what else might be out there. Some parts felt a bit weird but it was exciting to see something so different. The mix of real and computer made images made it even more interesting. It was like a puzzle that made me wonder more and made me want to discover more.
Don Hertzfeldt’s Simpsons Couch Gag from 2014 made me feel amused. It was an iconic Simpsons opening sequence with amazing visual style. I find it very mesmerizing that there were hand-drawn animation and as well a mix of digital effects. I also felt like i was dreaming and that i’m on a bizarre journey. what stands the most was the creativity and attention to details. Also, i felt a bit of chaos but it was a perfect blend of something from his universe to Simpson's world. I think the video perfectly capture the playfulness of Hertzfeldt's work.
Rino Stefano Tagliafierro’s “BEAUTY” from 2014 stirred many different emotions within me. It was a mesmerizing blend of art and animation that evoked feelings of awe and wonder.The motherly bond with the child made me feel calm. The transformation from painting to moving images was both haunting and beautiful to me. It looked very elegant and left me captivated by raw emotion captured in each frame. It felt like a transition from a complete calm to purely chaos. However, the paintings perfectly explains these emotions
#Metoon on Full frontal with Samantha Bee in 2019 made me feel really upset, also strong because it talked about the poor treatment of women by the people working in the animation industry. It was easy to watch because the artist used cartoons to display an important message which was that it is important to speak up against bad things. This video made me think about how I can use something simple to initiate awareness against so many bad things. It also made me think that animation can be used for other purposes as well. #Metoon made me feel how to make things better in animations.
