I had a rather hard time with this reading. I actually read it over again and was a little confused even after the second reading. What I don’t understand is why Ts’ui agreed ti see Change after clearly being upset by the forward behavior that he displayed earlier. I do agree tha from the beginning Ts’ui’s behavior portrayed her as being a difficult person, I’m led to believe that this was just an example of the complexity of her character that shows throughout the story.

I thought that this was an interesting piece to read. In the beginning, it wind me up to believe that what he was in search of “love”, would have been what he received in the end. However, I was very shocked by the ending of the story of Ying-ying when he got what he wanted BUT from a different source (not Ts’ui). It seems to me that from every piece of literature that we have been reading, love of some sort comes to play and makes us wonder how destiny should be.

this story has twists and turns and karma, which Buddhist faithful believe in, ends up being a key role here in the conclusion. I found it comparable YingYing to Penelope when she tested him with the invite and called him out that he kept it, this kind of confused me because now you’re just playing with someones emotion, what was her intent behind this?
