I thought it was very interesting to learn about the Nacirema. They have so many different customs that we do not experience in our own culture. They believe that the human body is ugly and that they carry diseases and we are accustomed to believe that we are all beautiful and unique in our own way. These people all kept shrines in their houses. The rich have the most amount of shrines. They have a lot of the same rituals as us, but it is so familiar, that is is rather strange as to what they do. They care about their mouths as we care about our dential hygiene. They insert hog hair into their mouths along with magical power. We use tooth paste and a tooth brush. They also fill holes in the teeth with magical material. This is similar to filling a cavity. The purpose of writing this way is to let people know that we are very similar from one culture to another. We all care about the same thing, but we express our concern in different ways.
