Description
JoVE is a database offering video demonstrations of research and lab methods across a wide range of disciplines (primarily STEM). Our trial is for the “Brain & Behavior” collection, which includes ~2000 videos from the following parts of the database:
Brief previews of the videos we don’t have access to in this trial are also available (JoVE has nearly 12,000 in its collection).

Today, PrivCo is launching a new interface, which you can read about in the PDF linked to below. One thing that hasn’t changed is that new users will still have to “sign up” for an account when they first go to the database. This sign up process requires an academic email address.

We now have access to MarketResearch.com, which offers market research reports on a wide range of industries and products.
As you may recall from 2013, when we last had access to this database, the individual pages that provide an overview of each report and a PDF “Download” button also include a scary looking price that can be safely ignored. Next to the price on each report page it says, “(Student downloads are FREE of charge – the price is shown for informational purposes only).”

The reports in this database are not indexed in OneSearch, so the only way to find them is by searching directly in the database.
Between 8 am and 2 pm, the interlibrary loan service will be down for maintenance as BCTC updates the ILLiad software on the server. If anyone has any questions, please contact Monique Prince at (646) 312-1670 or via email at [email protected].
If LibGuides happens to be down, there is backup spreadsheet linked to at the top of the “Databases Overview” page in the Library Services wiki (password protected) that has all of our databases and their URLs. I just updated the spreadsheet today with the current information.
Between 10 pm on Saturday, February 8, and 10 am on Sunday, February 9, RefWorks will be unavailable while the vendor does planned maintenance work.
After some back and forth with JAMA’s technical support, we were able to restore off campus access.
Off campus users are presently unable to access articles from the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). I’m working with JAMA tech support to see if we can find a solution. On campus access is working.
UPDATE (16 January 2020) Off campus access has been restored.
