Reading 3 (Part 1) – Russolo, on keeping your talent alive.

Sometimes life creates certain situations that either hold your talent captive or give you enough time to flourish into it. As I was reading, I realized that life hits you when you least expect it just like the tragedy that Russolo suffered due to war. You can say that he was at peak of his career but life had different plans. This reminded me of a musical group that I’m fond of called BTS but in this case Russolo was fortunate enough to hold an in person concert.

BTS was set to tour like Russolo did but just like life happened to him, life happened to BTS and to everyone as well. They were set to tour but had to cancel because Covid had started to spread and lockdown was announced. Everyone including BTS weren’t able to go anywhere and were stuck at home. This caused a setback in their life which resonates with how Russolo had been struggling in hospitals due to the results of the war. Most times, artists whether they’re famous or not have no choice but to surrender to life pausing their craft for the sake of life. Just like the way Russolo and BTS didn’t stop creating no matter the setbacks, we can learn a life lesson from them and hold our crafts with us and not forget about them due to unfortunate circumstances.

After all our precious gifts are our talents that highlights our individuality despite having the same passion.
