Reading 3 (Part 2) – Exploring Sound Art.

The audio I chose was called, “You’re the Guy I Want To Share My Money With” by Laurie Anderson created in the 90s. The sound is something that irritate me yet it reminds me of how you feel when you have a crush. Since the title seems to indicate somewhat of a romantic touch, I assume that the sounds are supposed to mimic that feeling.

I have always considered sound as art more like abstract art because in music there is sound, which is also considered art. To be honest, art isn’t subjective, or it isn’t something that represents only one thing. Art just like people comes in all shapes and forms.

I quite literally disliked this audio even though I found its meaning very interesting. It’s not something I would find myself listening to again not even if you paid me well… (depends on the price maybe?) no. Well.. anyways. The sound reminds me of a child finding a new instrument intriguing and plucking at random strings. The sound was very annoying.

This piece goes to show, art doesn’t have to be created a certain way to be considered art. You just simply have to start, and you’ll make your way as you go.
