Basketball for the people of Bhutan is making progress toward becoming a national sport.
“But after decades of being a largely royal preserve, basketball here is about to have its breakout moment” said a reporter for the NY Times today. Basketball in Bhutan has typically been reserved for royalty, but recently there has been news about a formation of a national team led by a South Korean coach. Although Bhutan has a little percentage of its population standing over 6 feet tall, it will not be much like the basketball one would see in America but it will still be just as interesting to watch. Will basketball in Bhutan be a success?
