In the article “Group Presses for Safeguards on the Personal Data of Schoolchildren” author Natash Singer talks about the group Common Sense Media, pressing for protection over the personal data of students. Many parents, and students themselves, are unaware of the fact that data stored by schools may become public or, through faulty systems, be open to use by commercial corporations. Children’s health, records, and financial status may be open to viewing, and may a source of discrimination against said students.
