J.P Morgan wants a new board due to the big trading loss that occurred last year.

I have also heard constant news about the Boston bombings as well as the latest news on 3D printed functioning guns. These guns were printed by students and can easily surpass security at airports and other check points making it difficult to determine who is carrying a gun and causing for an unsafe environment.

North Korea Nuclear Threats- Angelica Proano

North Korea’s threats are still up in the air. No one still really doesn’t know, when or who exactly will be affected if N. Korea’s threats do pull through. Some of the things I noticed while looking through international sources especially the ones from Asia are that the articles are relatively short.

In The Daily Yomiuri, which is a Japan newspaper, you can tell that they take the relationship they have with the U.S very seriously. In the article I read it talks about U.S Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to Asia and how well the visit went with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Both Abe and Kerry agreed that their countries would never allow Pyongyang to possess nuclear weapons. Both countries also agreed that they would continue to cooperate against North Korea. Again in this article you see the relationship Japan and the U.S have, but they do not however speak wrong of North Korea, instead they speak of how they can all agree to denuclearization and disarmament of N. Korea.

According to Aljazeera, North Korea has offered the U.S and South Korea a list of conditions on Thursday, which includes disarmament and lifting of UN sanctions. Compared to The Daily Yomiuri, there is no mention of such offer that N. Korea has put down.

Both in Aljazeera and BBC new articles, there is talk about two ballistic missiles that have been moved to N. Korea’s east coast. There is also a similarity in the ongoing threats that have been occurring towards South Korea, Japan and US bases in the region. Another thing in common is the fact that with April 25 could be a possible date for a missile launch due to the fact that it’s the founding anniversary of the North’s military.

BBC news was the one outlet that I found an article about the letter threat that was sent to S. Korea’s minister. In this letter it accused Mr. Kim Kwan-jin of  “war-mongering” and “infringing the highest dignity of North Korea.” The letter also mentioned that he would be punished for it. There are thoughts that some one from the North could have sent this, as there is one video in the North that showed army dogs attacking mannequins with Mr. Kim’s face.

Again, the articles written in Asia are short from what I have seen. Central news agency article focuses on an interview done on Taiwan’s security and intelligence chief. Tsai Teh-sheng explains as much as he knows about N. Korea and verifies the fact that N. Korea is very unpredictable.

North Korea Nuclear “War”- Angelica Proano

The threats from North Korea have kept coming in and appearing in the news a lot lately. Even though, there are some sources that keep stating there aren’t any nuclear testing going on in North Korea, other sources state that there has been and are still occurring.

At the BBC news, there is an article that states that in fact North Korea is has not carried out any nuclear testing. This news is coming from sources within South Korea. However, the North has said it is withdrawing all its workers from the shared Kaesong industrial complex. The Minister from South Korea, is the source that had earlier said that North Korea is doing nuclear testing.

According to NPR news “North Korea’s regime is skilled at making threats. And fortunately, the most ominous of those threats have not been followed by action in recent decades.” South Korean Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin says North Korea has moved a missile with considerable range to its east coast. Kim told the South Korean parliament Thursday that the North Korean missile however is not capable of hitting the United States. Kim suspects that the missile could have been moved for testing drills. According to this article there is no sign of military movement that could suggest for a conflict between North Korea, South Korea & the U.S. At least in this source there is sign of nuclear movement even though the threats still are not in full effect.

In both sources there is an agreement that North Korea has said it may shut down a joint industrial zone it has with South Korea. This is where companies from the South get some goods produced. Currently, South Koreans have been blocked from entering the Kaesong industrial zone.

North Korea Nuclear Threat- Angelica Proano

The past weeks in the news there has been reports of nuclear war threats coming from North Korea. The reason for this is that Pyongyang was canceling the 60-year-old treaty that ended the Korean War.

According to the article in the National Post, it makes it seem like North Korea has a tendency of putting out threats in times of tension with the outside world. This publication makes this nuclear threat in a way seem as a joke and that it will never occur as it goes into details of other threats North Korea has done before. However, in case of a war to actually occur South Korea along with US troops are running daily drills.

The article on NBC News/Reuters, proves that there has been a North Korea nuclear test. The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), claims that there is no “smoking gun” sign as they cannot detect radioactive traces emitted from last month’s North Korea nuclear testing. This article proves that in fact there are ongoing nuclear test happening in North Korea, but they are using substances that as of right now are not possible to detect. It may in fact be only a treat from North Korea but the testing makes one think otherwise.
