Under the pressure of his fathers death, Oscar feels obligated to unfold the secret behind the vase. I like how he takes every single aspect of a clue/hint into consideration and tries to use it to figure out details about his father. Unlike the typical 8 years old, Oskar decides to look for all the “Blacks” that may have relation with the vase.
Oscar’s persistent and mature personality caused him to become an intriguing character. Throughout his journey, he beings to develop more knowledge. I am amazed with the method that he used because it is not only efficient but also unique. Oscar is a brave 8 year old boy because he traveled through the city all by himself.
