Clapp, James A. “It Was The City Killed The Beast:” Nature, Technophobia, And The Cinema Of The Urban Future.” Journal Of Urban Technology 10.3 (2003): 1-18. Academic Search Complete. Web. 13 Nov. 2012.

This article focuses on all the different references in popular culture to technology creating urban distopias. References date as far back as Frankenstein.
The problem is that Clapp theorizes that we do have control over technology, which is why we fear retaliation from nature. Which is pretty much the opposite of my thesis. Hopefully, I can use this source as a counterargument and to show the increasing proliferation of books/movies containing an undercurrent of technophobia.

Hansen discusses why we should fear the “Millenium Bug.” He explains that we’re so dependent on technology that we couldn’t function without it.
