Profile, A Devoted Teacher in an Under Funded School
Wyandanch Elementary school is a school that is reflective of the city itself, forgotten, underfunded and somewhat archaic in their public technology. Some teachers may take that as an opportunity to complain or slack off because they “just don’t care.” This is not the case for Kindergarten teacher Barbara Koos. Her goals are to teach her kids the best she can, and use the available resources to do it. Though this school might be plagued with Windows XP computers, tape recorders still in use and next to zero smartboards, Miss Koos still has a group of very intelligent and polite students that are willing to learn everyday.
