Club Fair

The club fair, as held in the Main Gym on September 24, introduced students to lives of various clubs in the Baruch College. In this club fair, there were a lot of clubs, including the Bio-Med Society, Baruch City Advertising Society, Colleges against Cancer, Finance & Economics Society, Actuarial Science Society, NY Music Industry Association, and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, that I had never seen before. Among these clubs, the clubs of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program and Actuarial Science Society were the most interesting and attractive ones to me. The VITA program, as stated in its title, was mainly dealt with income tax. It enabled students to have new insights of how the world of accounting progress. Also, it granted opportunities to students to experience the real taste of filing income tax. In addition to the VITA Program, the Actuarial Science Society served as my assistant in reaching my future goal of career. Receiving help from the Actuarial Science Society, I started to realize the responsibility of an Actuaries and the essence of having Actuarial Science in the business world.
