Jason Momoa is a well known figure of a superhero because of the movie Aquaman. It was shocking to see him slowly take apart his masculine appeared body. I personally believe he is only confident to be part of this ad showing a frail version of him because everyone (including himself) knows how his real body looks. This would normally make the person look bad because of their physical body appearance, however, because he is an idolized actor so it is easier for the audience to take his advice. This is where the credibility appeal is shown. However, because he is also a regular person like the rest of us so there is a connection that helps the audience relate to how he feels when he says his home is his private sanctuary where he can be his true self. Everyone can relate to how we are different in our public life than when we are home alone. You feel relaxed and you can be your true self at home. This brings up the use of pathos as it makes the audience agree with pathos where the emotion of the private life is brought up. There is strong disbelief in our society where many people don’t think they can relate to a built celebrity. That is why Rocket Mortgage uses Jason Momoa to advertise the privacy and comfort of using Rocket Mortgage. This ultimately leads to the use of logos as it is logical to believe Jason Momoa in confiding in Rocket Mortgage. This ad helps to prove that Rocket Mortgage is reliable and private. It gives comfort to the audience to get loans from Rocket Mortgage if a celebrity as Jason Momoa is comfortable.
Therefore, even exposing Jason Momoa, who is a famous actor, in a false reality created a bond with the people that supported the acknowledgment that Rocket Mortgage is trustworthy.
