Before I even think of where to write what notes containing different substances, I think of who can view my thoughts and opinions. The social platform is definitely a place to go for a lot of different opinions and audiences. However, I personally cannot trust social media to write whatever I would like.
Some locations I think of to write sometimes include the obvious: Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. Of course, it wouldn’t include personal notes. However, I have my notes app for that. For really important notes I write them on my reminders app including the time and date to alert me. I know my social media is private, however whatever is up on the internet is going to stay forever. So technically whatever notes I decide to post on Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter will be public even if my account is private. I’ve never experienced any issues with my social media and I don’t want to bother risking any chances of it. Social media is a very risky place to upload your thoughts and notes. Although there is the option to prevent specific people from seeing your story or your posts, I wouldn’t be posting things that I wouldn’t want my family members to see or fellow church members. Therefore, it is a lot safer to use a different app on your phone that reassures your privacy. My notes and reminders app is private and isn’t uploaded into the media. It is only saved into my phone so I know it is private. I use this a lot for school and work included notes to help me keep track of what I need to do, or what I should do. I find it very helpful to keep these types of notes private than public. No one really cares about your notes or thoughts on social media anyways.
There are some implications to why someone wants to go from private to public. A public location can expand your connection from friendship to career decisions. It can help grow your opportunities to put yourself out into the world of influencers, models, and other job opportunities. It is also a place to spread awareness and kindness or sometimes hate against or for a specific issue. Almost everyone is in the media so it is beneficial to many for public figures and locations to seek attention and opportunities.
As a result, there is no better option than keeping everything private; even for notes.
I use the notes app for a lot for my writing too! I feel like it’s more convenient and it’s more personal since I know not a lot of people would be able to read it.
Agreed on the social media part, nothing ever stays private. Always a good idea to keep of the web for writing personal.
