Something that doesn’t get outdated, forgotten or become ancient

by Great Works

—Anonymous

I consider a “great work” of literature to be something that is viewed as a masterpiece or a classic. Something that doesn’t get outdated, forgotten or become ancient. I see this in a text that I read from the book named, “The Norton Anthology World Literature” and the name of the book is called “The Love Suicides at Amijima” by Chikamatsu Monzaemon. I consider it a “great work” because it is a fascinating text to read as it is very detailed and could be based on a true story based on how society was back then. This text speaks to me in some way that no matter how much you love another person you always have to be loyal no matter what since you’re already compromised with someone else. Also, you got to be truthful to the person and try not to hurt them. This text relates to a lot of tv shows such as novellas because those are the same stories of what people go through in their life. I think any text can change over time because they try to replicate the old texts to make new ones since people aren’t that creative anymore.
