For recent decade, Vietnam’s technology has been developing rapidly. From information technology aspect, there are more and more people has accessed to internet. In big cities, almost households has equipped internet either by cables or DSL. It has been largely spread out for trade and management. There are more people confidentially trade stocks through internet, and more people uses internet to create online stores or mini shops that receive order online and deliver products to home within a day. People do not have to wait for long time to have accesses to new technology devices such as smartphones or tablets, computers. It has made our lives more comfortable and convenient. It helps us access more knowledge and tighten the gaps between us and the world. In another hand, there is still lack of privacy and security concern over information technology. Almost websites are self-establishment, and they do not have security. Even though we have access and manage bank account online, we never do it at home since lack of security over the internet. Credit card system has not yet develop completely so that owner of online stores or mini shops usually get paid when products are delivered. Moreover, in the countryside or highlands, technology has not yet developed.

How is Google using its monopoly of the Internet to further its own interests?

The articles shows us the threat of the current biggest giant search engine Google that using its monopoly power to dominate Internet area. Google uses its recent dominant in web searching engine and its humongous resources to unfairly promote its new products such as Yelp, a finding places searching engine, or Expedia, a traveling looking tool. Whenever we want to search anything on Google web search, we can notice that Google prioritize its own products by putting them on the first list even though it is sometimes relative new to customers. These actions help made other competitor company easily fall behind Google’s products and seemingly do not have chance to get back unless they do not use Google web search. In addition, Google may use its power to buy competitors’  resources, or even buy their companies and become bigger and bigger. According to the article, “Google now controls over 90% of the market in several European countries.” It is certainly wrong because Internet must not be dominated by one, and it should be executing by several companies. In the future, there would be not many innovation in Internet field if it is dominated by a monopoly company.

What is going to happen to Google if they are found guilty of the violating anti-trust laws ?

If Google are found guilty, not only Google will have to pay huge fines for its lawsuits, but also it will stop or delay its spreading power. It is good chance for other rival companies inventing something news to compete against Google in the future. It is not late for U.S Federal Trade Commission or European Commission to file lawsuits against Google for the developing Internet scope.
