New funny way to communicate all over the world
One of the most amazing things we have today will be the internet. In China, ways to communicate become varied with the internet use. Before I came to the U.S., people were still using texting and phone calls to meet the most need for communication. But now, people use “Weibo” (a microblogging) to share their instant thoughts, opinions on their pages where other people can leave their comments too. My friend continuously uploaded the pictures on her wedding day through “Weibo” and I witnessed the wedding and left her my best wishes on the other side of the world. Also, people will use a mobile app called “WeChat” to send text, images and voice messages to friends without additional charges as long as internet is accessed. With this app, I can hear my friends’ voices from China anytime. Internet shrinks the physical distance among people living in different places. Extra credit writing about “Get deals with facial recognition camera” for final
Discussion: Facedeals is a new app that allows users to receive coupons based on what they ‘like’ and the profile that they create on Facebook. Facial recognition cameras will scan the users face, match it with their Facebook profile, and send the user coupons for the establishments that they are visiting. Those opposed to the new app cite privacy concerns for the new facial recognition camera.

Discussion Questions:
- Does facedeals affect the privacy of the contacts and/or friends of users who choose to use the app?
- Can you prevent the facial recognition cameras from scanning and recognizing your face?
People who sign up with the facedeals will authorize the app draws their personal information through Facebook. Base on what they “like” on Facebook, whenever people go into those stores and get the faces scanned, they will get customized deals sent to their mobile devices automatically from the stores. It sounds like a great deal that can save your money and tiem. However, customers do not know how much personal data will be drawn from their facebook account neither how their data will be kept and used in the future. Do not think that you will be safe by not using this app at all. Your personal information will still under risk exposure if your friends on facebook is using this app. There is no guaranteed that your data will not be revealed throught your “friendship” connection on the social networking page. If you concer about your privacy at a high level, one way to prevent your personal information to be revealed is do not use this app at all and try not to put too much personal information on line.

How people use Access at work
To be honest, I have never used MS Access at all. After getting some information on line to learn about it, it is actually a great program to manage data as Excel at some point.
“Microsoft Access works in the same manner any database does, by storing related information together, and letting you create connections (commonly called relationships) between different things. The relationships between two different things in MSAccess can be very simple (such as a contact at a customer and the customer itself) or complex.
Once you have your MS Access tables, fields, and relationships set up, you can create data entry forms that use those tables to store your information and later create reports with the data. Microsoft Access forms are incredibly easy (and fun) to design with a wysiwyg form design tool. And you can use MS Access forms to simplify data entry for users by grouping related fields together, and hiding fields they don’t need to enter. ”
Here is an example of how people use Access for creating and managing invoices step by step:
“Step 1
Download the Desktop Time and Billing template for Access 2003 and 2007 or the Desktop Services template for Access 2010. Both are available from the Microsoft Office website under the “Templates” tab at the top of the page (see link in Resources).
Step 2
Launch Access. In 2003 or 2007 go to “File | Templates | Time & Billing | Project List | Reports | Invoice.” In Access 2010, a “Quotes & Invoices” tab automatically appears on the dashboard.
Step 3
Select the invoice template you want to use in Access 2003 or 2007, or click the “Add New Invoice” button on the Access 2010 dashboard. From here the invoicing steps are the same regardless of version.
Step 4
Enter the status, employee name, customer name and amounts into the appropriate fields. You’re prompted to create a new customer record if the name isn’t already found in Access.
Step 5
Click “Save & Close” and then “Next” to exit. The invoice appears in the “Report Center” tab of Access 2003 and 2007 and the “Invoices” tab in Access 2010. Choose to sort by “Unpaid,” “Past Due” or “Paid.”
Step 6
Click the invoice number to edit, print or change the status of an invoice. Choose “Save & Close” to save changes.”
Obviously Access helps a lot in saving time and better management. With skills of using Excel and Access, people can boost up efficiency and lead to a higher level productivity.

How I use Excel at work or how some people use Excel at work
Unfortunately, none of my work asks for Excel so far. However I know it is so popular that probably being used in every company. I am happy that we will explore the Excel world.
I remember when I was taking physics, my professor gave us the Excel spreadsheets as a tool to check the homework. We can just simply check the answers of some complicated questions by typing the figures in. It is very useful at workplace and also an efficient tool to use in study.
I would like to learn more about Excel in this course and use it in my life.
