I’ve seen the film

OK students, I’ve just seen “The Central Park Five” (at Lincoln Cinemas, 62d and Bway) and am more convinced than ever that you must see this film! It’s what we’ve been talking about on the subject of wrongful conviction. Here are links to two of the original stories which will help you understand the atmosphere at the time. (Hope these links turn live.)

I saw the film too with my children 16 (boy), 15 (daughter) and 13 (boy). We thought it was extremely interesting. I will elaborate more later but a few things jump out at me while washing the movie. The failure of the media to ask real questions of the NYPD. The internal affairs investigation was lackluster. Though the media seemed to humanized the victim but as was stated in the movie the other victims remained as animals in the minds of new yorkers (low information populace).
