In this course, I am looking forward to working on my writing skills. I know that in the long run, this can benefit my research papers and any other papers I may have to write in my philosophy and psychology class. Knowing that I can carry these skills to my other classes or even in the future where I may have to write a paper, is a great thing and makes this an essential class. Especially in analyzing text because I will learn how to take a greater approach in understanding my readings and research. This is an obstacle I foresee doing well in since I will be getting in the habit of deciphering text and putting those habits into practice. I am also looking forward to potentially working with other people in this class, in building off each other’s ideas or even getting critiques on each other’s work which really contributes to social skills and even my skills in this class.
As an instructor, support and reliability would most help me excel in this class. This could be your response time to emails or whatever the case may be.
In the future of this course, managing my time looks potentially like creating a routine I can follow. This includes making a personal reminder or note of the work I have after every class and scheduling a time in the week or day to complete them. Hopefully, even work in working with other people in the class with certain assignments. I could also take time to go to the writing center for support if I may feel like it. With the great blocks of time I have between most class, I can dedicate some of that time to working on work for this class.
Overall, I hope for the best in this class.
To start off, it caught my eye that you mentioned even though the classes you take, like Psychology and Philosophy, are quite different disciplines from English, you also emphasized how they interconnect with English class. It projected the importance of writing, how it can be utilized for other courses and tasks, and highlighted how necessary writing skills really are, beyond this class. I really look forward to working with you in class soon!
