English writing has inevitably been and remains to be one of my academic strong points, and I intend to elevate my writing skills throughout this class. Despite being a sophisticated writer, I still, however, need to focus on enhancing my speech to avoid filler words such as “um” and “uh”. Also, even though my writing is advanced, I am ironically not a big reader. This semester, I aim to change that because reading, without a doubt, build one’s vocabulary, confidence, and, of course, imagination. Therefore, I am primarily looking forward to participating in assignments and activities that will assist me in reaching my two goals: improved speech and a strong liking for reading.
Aside from the previously mentioned literacy concerns, I anticipate difficulty with time management because I often underestimate how long a task or project will take to complete. This challenge genuinely frightens me because each of my classes demands a plethora of homework, all of which are due in a short time. I’m further concerned that it will take some time for me to balance my social and academic lives because I tend to focus exclusively on academics and miss out on important moments with the people around me. To combat this issue, I will set goals for myself before starting any of my homework and other day-to-day responsibilities. I am confident that establishing goals for myself will considerably help me manage my time since goals provide concentration, which will allow me to know exactly what has to be achieved. I’ll also continually make brief to-do lists to remind myself of the tasks at hand. Finally, I will ensure that I get a good night’s sleep to have sufficient energy to be productive during the day.
I am optimistic that your assistance, correction, and advice as my instructor will support me in all of my endeavors throughout this course. Thus at the end of the year, I will have successfully become a better speaker and reader, as well as effectively managed my time.

I would like to first praise you because you immediately knew what you needed to improve on and set your goals knowing what you lack in, I really hope you will achieve these goals by the end of the semester and wish you the best of luck.
I can relate to saying words like “um” and “uh” but its very good to acknowledge what you need to improve on and we will learn together.
I also hope to improve my speech by reading more this semester. I would like to start to like reading more outside of school as I rarely do. But to do this I have to break out of my habit of procrastination and improve my time management. Let’s do our best to achieve our goals while making the best of our college experience.
