The major themes covered in this exhibit are patriotism, duty, and citizenship. The Vietnam War was a war between the communist North Vietnam and the government of South Vietnam where the South was allied by The United States. South Vietnam’s as well as the US’s fight against communism demonstrates patriotism and really goes along with duty and citizenship as they deal with this major threat. 

In this exhibit, the curators wanted to express the importance of the Vietnam War with all that has happened from the suffering of the native people to the Americans in the war, and also what came out of the war, the result. In one part of the exhibit, there was a video about a photographer who had captured pictures of the aftermath of a plane crash. It was described as well as depicted the women and children that were fleaing  a village that was set on fire by the crash and a little girl was running with no clothes on. It turns out that her clothes were burned off of her in that fire and her skin was even burned. Lucky for her she survived. The photographer was able to capture the picture of her and the event and it is known to be a powerful picture because it shows distress, innocence, citizenship, and war. 

Another part of the exhibit was a video on FedEx and it interestly was inspired by the Vietnam War. A man by the name Frederick W. Smith was an American who fought in the Vietnam War and was stationed in a fire zone. He was familiarized with logistics in redistribution. He later on went into business after the war where he made a logistics system that helped with shipment connecting air and land. As he shares in the video, him sharing this helps people remember the cost of the war and gives tribute. This was an emotional story for him because he has experienced a lot of devastation in this war but this really allows viewers to sympathize and acknowledge the significance of this war.

Overall, the curators of this exhibit seem to show great empathy for the event and have made sure that it will not be forgotten. They help educate others on what was going on during the event which also helps with the memory of it when learning about the great impact it has had in history.
