The Great Hack which is about the Facebook Cambridge Analytica data controversy by Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer produced and directed the 2019 documentary. The documentary was an informational documentary on how the election had an algorithm of digital users who had a referral from the right wing media. They expose how Trump’s media used information of all digital users and try to win them over with their political ads. This is completely illegal so it will raise some eyebrows certainly with professor David Caroll who started a lawsuit against the company. This happens too often and usually no consequences are made.

Death of the private self: how fifteen years of facebook changed the human condition written by John Harria is about how the social media affects us. The first intention of facebook was to be a dating site for some of the prestigious colleges like Yale and Harvard Stanford and Columbia. After fifteen years the social media skyrocketed to 2.2 billion users. Now with this people put their information on the app. They either lie or tell the truth but there is no privacy with this social media. And the accessibility for this is way too easy which cause little kids to create a profile. This might not seem bad however this often leads to addiction, depression and anxiety. These problems stem from all across the app with likes friends comments and all other forms of attention. It poses a fake life where others can try to replicate it for self pleasure and validation. With all of this information big companies take in all of your information and do whatever they want with this information. It has been leaked that multiple social media companies do sell users information and some companies get hacked and reported that information is always being stolen.
