My final product is called the Hotket Knife. It is a portable, foldable hot knife. This idea came from seeing a hot knife being used on a school project years ago and the fact that I used my pocket knife daily. I took the route of just combining the two safely. I interviewed my girlfriend regarding my cane/seat design and learned quite a lot. I learned my design is lacking quite heavily, both in physical design and passion. I knew she suffered but I had never knew it so candidly through an interview style. I really saw how much pain, physical and mental, these illnesses cause her. I need to go back to the drawing board on my design.
My girlfriend has fibromyalgia. With this comes pain flareups almost daily. That also means that walking or standing for long periods of time become increasingly more difficult. My invention to help her is a collapsable cane / seat. The object on the left is the collapsed cane, small enough to put in a bag or purse for easy transport. The shaft then extends into a cane to ease walking pains. Beyond that, the handle extends into a seat and the shaft includes a kickstand (orange piece) to create a seat when one is not available.
I created my favorite toy on Tinkercad, a baseball. It looks pretty simple, but it took me around an hour and a half to complete. It took me a while to get the hang of Tinkercad and figure out a flow, but once I found that flow it was pretty quick to the end. I added an MLB and Rawlings logo to make it more detailed and recognizable.
My favorite toy growing up was a baseball. I played baseball for 12 years and constantly had a baseball or baseball equipment in my hands. It was my first passion and continues to be one of my favorite hobbies and interests.

I liked this definition because it shows that innovation takes time and is a operation with multiple steps. Many would think that innovation is strictly the results portion, but it all starts with an idea. This definition helps paint that picture. It shows that more work than just creativity goes into innovation.
