I interviewed my girlfriend regarding my cane/seat design and learned quite a lot. I learned my design is lacking quite heavily, both in physical design and passion. I knew she suffered but I had never knew it so candidly through an interview style. I really saw how much pain, physical and mental, these illnesses cause her. I need to go back to the drawing board on my design.

Problem Solving Idea
My girlfriend has fibromyalgia. With this comes pain flareups almost daily. That also means that walking or standing for long periods of time become increasingly more difficult. My invention to help her is a collapsable cane / seat. The object on the left is the collapsed cane, small enough to put in a bag or purse for easy transport. The shaft then extends into a cane to ease walking pains. Beyond that, the handle extends into a seat and the shaft includes a kickstand (orange piece) to create a seat when one is not available.
