How Social Media will change in 2011

Here in this article it is highlighting the ten different ways which the social media in 2011 will change from previous years.

The change on this list that I think most people expected is that social media will be now more super-sized than before. The reason for this is because now there will be more service providers than ever using social networks for something with their company. For example just the other day while reading the NY times, I came across a article about how T-Mobile plans on coming up with a way that you can make calls on Facebook to your friends.

According to the article mobile is becoming the gateway to our world which I tend to agree with even more now with the creation of the Ipad and more smartphones.  Last year was the first year ever in which the sale of smart phones outsold desktops and also laptops.  In addition to this, sales for applications on the Iphone and Ipad hit the 7 billion mark.

Another change we should expect to see in 2011 is more videos being used. It seems to me like  more things are now caught on video than in the past. Things that happen in the subway station you can always find on video such as the rat running inside of a train. These videos taking on phones become a big hit because you can share these videos you recorded on your facebook which is a reason for the 2 million videos shared on facebook in just one month.

Do you think Social Media will change negatively in 2011?

Social Media??? I feel so overwhelmed by Social Media. It seems like life is nothing just to be online, watch some web sides, using I phone, texting etc. etc. Do people read newspapers or books anymore??? I mean the original form.
New changes on Facebook?? Wonderful. I haven’t learned the old ones, and already new ones are coming. I understand Facebook has to come up with something all the time, otherwise they will run out of business. However, wont it happen anyway?? I mean, there were other social sides that were very popular then, and by the time they disappeared. People stopped using them.
I think, I feel that it is the future of Facebook too. Sorry, but I already experience that. I have been on Facebook for about a year and my friends whom use to be on Facebook and post all the time are already gone. I talked to a few of them, on the phone!, and they told me that they got tired of Facebook. They used to be online all the time, then they wanted to be there more and more. Finally, they realized that they needed to get rid of that habit before the habit would have taken them. So, they quit.
I think these social sides are popular for a while, then people turn to other sides. Why? People are curious, they like to try new things. Like fashion, high platform shoes were popular ten years ago, but nobody wears them today.
Overall, these changes in Social Media are necessary, and there are no negative changes. Everything is made for the users and the purpose is to improve their enjoyment while they are online.

I don’t think that social media will change negatively but I do agree that it will become more super-sized, which for some might seem negative. People are always looking for the next big thing, that’s why they come out with a new Iphone or Ipad every few months. The internet is just beginning to be discovered and I know that advancements will be made in the future and who knows what’s next to come. I’m not scared of these advancement for myself but I am a little worried about the younger generation that is growing up in this age of technology. These kids have been surrounded by the internet since birth and I’m sure many of them can navigate the internet better than me. Maybe the internet and social media sites are a phase nowadays but for the kids growing up surrounded by it; these advancements will become part of their life. Human interaction will take on a whole new form as the internet becomes a bigger and bigger factor in social interaction. Also with the younger generation growing up in the age of new internet discoveries it leads to the issue of how these advancements will be used. Children will learn better how to use these technologies and who knows what they will use them for. Maybe it’s not the new advancements made to social media that are negative but I believe that the way that people will start to use these technologies is when the negativity will come.
