I think we see here how nikki has taken Erwin Goffmans idea of presenting yourself as a performance to a whole new level. We see here that she has 4 personalities (alter egos) which she calls on when making music and presenting herself to her audiences. Theres Nikki which we see in the interview, Roman who we hear in many songs, Martha who we also hear in many songs and Barbie who she presents to her fans. I think this is a very extreme version of what Erwin was talking about but in different public spheres we tend to show different sides of ourselves. The school self, work self, family self, and even just who you are when youre alone. Of course Nikki is just a tad off the wagon but it shows these old concepts of performances in a more modern context. I think in order to survive in our lives we tend to present ourselves differently depending on how we are accepted in our different places of social interaction. I think Nikki is correct in stating that sometimes it can be very hard to have all of your personalities work together but somehow we manage. I still think she might have a multiple personality disorder though.
