Disney? Really? Response

Looking back over some of the earlier posts and i was drawn to the post about Disney. In that blog and article it was explained the offense that Disney committed was a mass accumulation of Child information, without parental consent.

I only just found out about this news and I find it very offensive that this type of activity is being committed and by Disney no less!

The playstation three database was possible to be hacked into and information about many of the playstation three online users was stolen. Some financial information may have been stolen and that could lead to identity theft and forgery. Now imagine if a similar scenario happened with the information Disney was gathering and now you have a major concern over these kids.

Just as we are reminded in class, everything is stored and available four your viewing pleasures…on the Internet.

You have been poked!

I dont know what has been up lately, but a friend of mine that has kind of fallen off in keeping touch has recently been sending pokes my way on Facebook. What on earth could such a simple action on mean? Poking someone in the literal sense would seem to me as, a tap or maybe even as naughty as a pinch. (depends where)

But what social undermining could be involved in each poke that you receive or send out?

Is a poke to a new date that you have recently been seeing for the last month the same as say…poking your best friend. It most definitely would not be. If I sent a poke to one of my friends male/female it would most likely be a way of greeting, or acknowledgment, kind of like saying whats up!

However imagine poking someone you are a little more intimate with…I am not even going to go further, because there are countless hidden messages which could be contained in one single Facebook POKE!

Twitter makes following people (stalking) easier!

Twitter has added a new update to their site, a new feature that brings up accounts or profiles of people that match certain criteria of your search. For instance if you were to search female R&B, a profile of Alicia Keys or Keyshia Cole my appear. In addition to being able to find people whom are interested in the same ideas and topics as you, there is also the option of searching for the latest updates or blogs on such topics you search for.

Although these new features seem like a great addition, I feel like these new options would work out much better on Facebook, where socialites would better utilized this searching option for a multitude of different purposes 😉 . It seems easier to connect to with people on a facebook than on twitter. However when looking at this new twitter upgrade, I feel like third party users whom are out looking for personal information and self profit can now more easily and quickly find their “victims”.
