IMPORTANT: For Monday…

Hi all,

I hope you found today’s session to be both fun and productive. As mentioned, for Monday please do the readings listed on the syllabus (all related to the Brooklyn Bridge). And, remember to bring your book to class. BUT, there is no response paper due.

INSTEAD, I’d like for us to do some writing on the blog about our experience with the Makey Makey, something process-based and reflective. And, ideally, please try to post something ASAP–the sooner you reflect on the class session, the better. Some questions to consider:

  • Tell the story of the class session. What journey did your group take? What idea did you begin with and what did you end up inventing?
  • How did the class session match/exceed/fail to meet your expectations of what it would be like to do this kind of work?
  • How does this kind of work connect to essay writing? What critical tools did you need to use that you also use when approaching a formal paper?
  • What materials do you wish we had for you to work with?
  • What did you learn? What are you thinking about now? If you could have another class session like this one, what would you want to do and why?

If you missed today’s class, your blog post can focus on one of the poems we’re reading for Monday.
