How Starbucks Built a Company One Cup at a Time
by Howard Schultz
Shultz says that Starbucks was the “child” of two parents. The first parent was the Starbucks that was founded in 1971 with the initial thoughts of producing world-class coffee and educating its customers on how a cup of coffee can change an individual’s day. Howard Schultz was the second parent who wanted to blend coffee with romance to achieve a level others deemed impossible. With his innovating ideas, each cup of coffee is made with elegance and style that sets Starbucks above other breweries.
Howard Schultz goes on to talk about how his ideas were inspired by the bittersweet childhood experiences. As a romantic, he wanted to create an environment that can inspire others. He wanted to create a small oasis or utopia far from the drab and mundane routines of everyday life. He would then implement those ideas to his work and that was the birth of Starbucks as it is today.
