Finding an internship, part-time or full time job is not easy anymore, but if you are Baruch College student then do not worry. Simply take an escalator to the second floor of the Vertical Campus. STARR Career Development Center (SCDC) is right there to help you out. SCDC, provide numerous services to students regarding resume review, cover letter strategies, mock interviews and many more.
Writing the cover letter and sample writings for employers can be stressful. A single spelling mistake or wrong punctuation choice might change the perception of a recruiter. However, if you want someone to proof read and help you fix the errors of your writing, all you have to do is to take an elevator to the eighth floor to the Writing Center. If there is a long queue at the Writing Center or the next available appointment is too late, then checkout the new express Writing Center Desk at Library on the second floor. Recently, the Writing Center has established a walk-in counter in the Newman Library just next to the Reference desk, where students can have a quick review of their writing samples.
Once you are done with all of this, it’s time to visit the Baruch Computing and Technology Center (BCTC) Lab. At the BCTC Labs, students can use various programs to edit and make changes to their resumes, cover letters, and writing samples. In addition to that, BCTC offers students the ability to print their resumes at no cost on resume bond paper, recommended by the Career Development Center. Students are allowed to print up to 15 resumes per day and during career fair they can print up to 25 resumes. To utilize this service, students are advised to inquire with BCTC lab assistants.
Once you are finished with resume review, cover letter proof reading at the Writing Center and finally have your resume on resume bond paper; you are ready for next step!
